Kristen Dutka

Department Chair, AP Studio Art and Painting Teacher

Kristen is a former graduate of Carolina Forest. She is currently in her 14th year teaching at CF and primarily teaches Digital Photography , Digital Art, and AP Studio Art. In her free time she enjoys painting and creating  jewelry for her online jewelry business.

Thomas Mendenhall

AP 3D, Sculpture and Art I Teacher

Thomas is in his 13th year of teaching at Carolina Forest and is a graduate of  the University of South Carolina and Coastal Carolina. He currently teaches AP 3D, Art III Sculpture and Art I. He is also a co-sponsor of National Art Honor Society. His main interest in his free time include sports, more-so watching than playing these days.

Abigail Merrell Dew

AP Art History,  Drawing and 

Art I Teacher

Mrs. Dew is from Conway, SC and teaches AP Art History, Art 1, and Art 2 Drawing. She has been teaching for six years and this is her second-year teaching at CFHS.  She was a graduate of CFHS in 2011 and then attended Coastal Carolina University.  In her free time she loves to travel and be outdoors. In addition, she likes to create her own art, especially painting with watercolors and making pottery. Her favorite thing about being an art teacher is getting to see her student's unique personalities through their art!

Sara Farrington

Art I Teacher

Sara attended Carolina Forest High (and middle) years ago. She graduated from CCU with a Bachelors degree in Studio Art and a Masters in Teaching. Sara taught in Horry County for 6 years before moving to NC and graduating from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill with her MFA in Studio Art. This is her 9th year teaching and has taught elementary, middle, high and college students. She shows her artwork regularly in the Southeast. The work she creates are sculptural installations made of paper.

Kimberly Evans-Robey

Painting and Art I Teacher

Kim Evans-Robey joined the Carolina Forest Fine Arts Department this winter after previously teaching elementary and middle school students in Georgetown County.  She teaches both Art 1 Foundations and Art 4 Painting courses.  She began her teaching career in 2013, after working in the professional world of architecture for over a decade.  Ms. Kim, as known to her students, earned a Master’s of Architecture degree from the Savannah College of Art and Design and enjoys photography, watercolor and design projects when she is not in the classroom.
